Most of the companies find that their communications cost are the second or third largest expenses of their operational cost, the same is true for a lot of families now. Cable TV, cell phone, internet, long distance call are the basic needs, it turns to be a big family expenses. To keep these expenses lower, here is what we do:
* check the bills carefully every month to see whether we were over-charged. Once we find anything wrong, just contact the suppliers right away. The billing system of the utility companies could sometimes go glitch, we don’t trust the bills, we trust ourselves.
* don’t pay what we don’t need, choose the service program based on our needs only, not the fluffy add-ons speciality. As a home computer user, I don’t really need express plan, light is enough.
* watch closely to the market price, compare the costs from different suppliers. We switched our telephone and internet to a new supplier, the quality and service are even better, but the number on the bills are $40 lower.
The concept is, you have to learn how to manage those bills, not let the bills manage you all the time.
